12th May flea at St Mary's Church, South Ealing

Sugar and Spice flea's May market proved to be a great success in the new venue of St Mary's Church hall in South Ealing.  The spacious hall showcased over 25 traders and a tearoom too.

We were spoilt for choice with delicious food throughout the day from local baker Philippa (www.facebook.com/letemeatcakebakery) and local cafe owners, twin sisters (http://thetwinshealthyhabitat.co.uk).  Philippa served traditional, delicious homemade cakes including coffee and walnut and red velvet and the Twins Healthy Habitat served salad boxes with jerk or herb chicken, smoothies and wraps.  The salads were displayed in stunning handmade pottery bowls, made by their Grandmother.

There were lots of visitors on the day, some regular flea followers but lots of new shoppers too.  The markets also give traders a chance to catch up and network which is part of the experience, as well as selling their amazing products too.

The lucky dip proved popular with the younger visitors and the tearoom meant that shoppers could take time out to sit down and enjoy the refreshments and then carry on shopping!

Sugar and Spice returns to St Mary's Church Hall on Saturday 15th September and the next market will be at the award winning Grange Pub, Ealing Common on Saturday 30th June.
